How much fabric for palazzo pants is required? You will need 2.25 – 2.50 mtrs of fabric.
In this post I’ll show you palazzo pants pattern draft. I have drafted the pattern on fabric.
Palazzo pants pattern drafting:
First let’s draw the front part of palazzo pants.
- Fold the fabric from middle width wise.
- A is the midpoint of folded fabric.
- A – B = length for drafting palazzo pants. Refer measurement tab above.
- A- B = 38″ [ 39″ – 2″ + 1″]
- Draw a straight line from A to B.
- 1 – 2 Hip round /4 + 1″
- A – 3 Hip round /3
- 2- 4 Hip round /4 + 1″
- 1 – 5 Hip round /4 + 1″
- 4 – 6 = 2″ outside.
- Draw a curve from 6 – 2. This is front crotch shape.
- 7 – 8 = Full width of the fabric.
- Draw a line from 6 – 7.
- Join 1 – 8.
This finishes the palazzo pants draft of front side.
Now we will draw the back part of palazzo pants.
- 6 – 9 = 2″
- 2 – 10 = 1″
- Join 1 – 10.
- Draw a curve from 9- 10. This is back crotch shape.
- Draw a line from 9 – 7
This finishes the palazzo pants draft of back side.

This is so detailed and will definitely use it. I just want to ask if seam allowances have been added to the patterns. If not, are we to add seam allowances to our fabric when cutting?
