Hello Friends, Today we will see how to make half collar neck design. As the name suggests half collar, this type of collar covers the full back neck and half of the front neck.  I have written about different types of collar pattern like straight collar pattern, basic collar pattern, round collar pattern. The half collar pattern drafting is very easy DIY. You can complete the collar pattern making within 5 minutes. This Half collar kurti designs are very comfortable to wear. Many of us don’t like round collar kurti but believe me if you will wear this type of half collar kurti you will definitely wear it the next time too.

Half Collar Pattern Making

Measurements needed for collar pattern drafting

1. Neckline length = Collar length
2. Collar width = Collar height

Material required for half collar pattern drafting

1. Fusing  Canvas / Buckram
2. French curve
3. Scale
4. Pencil

 Collar Pattern Drafting

 

 

1. Take the fusing canvas.
2. Fold the paper in half.
3. Mark  1 – 2 = 2″ This is the twice the width of collar or the height of the collar
4. Mark 3- 4  = 2″   This is the twice the width of collar or the height of the collar
5. Mark 1 – 3 = 6″   This is the collar length /2
6. Mark  2-4 = 6″   This is the collar length /2
7. Mark 5 the midpoint of 1-2.
8. Mark 6 the midpoint of 3-4
9. Draw the rectangle from 1-2-3-4
10. Draw the curve from 3-5.
11. Draw the curve from 6-2.
12. Give the corner shape of collar pattern.
13. And your collar pattern making is complete.
14. Now cut the collar.
15. Below is the half collar neck design.
