Hello Readers,

We all wear sleeveless tops/ tunics. But some people like me step out from home wear a shrug over it, to avoid those stupid staring eyeballs and yes of course to protect from harsh sun-rays. As I suffer from sun allergy 🙁 Yesterday an idea clicked 😉 why not post about a shrug.
Shrug can be worn on any type of tunic, tank tops. Shrug should be from a light weight fabric if you wanna use in summer.

Sewing A Shrug

In the shrug sewing tutorial I have used net fabric. The length solely depends on you. I’ve taken ready length of shrug 15″. And the sleeves are of length 14″ ready.

Pattern of shrug

The draft will be same that of kurti.
Draw the draft of kurti but we will take here only above part, I mean draw the kurti draft from 1-4-6-7-5-3 only.
1-6= Length of the shrug + 1″
A long Bias strip will also be needed. See how to cut bias strip.
Cut along the drafting lines. Below is the snap of shrug pattern (back). The Back will be  on folded side while as the front will not be on folded side. So we will get 2 pieces of front and 1 back piece. The bottom shape is bit curved.
The back neckline is to be cut only of 1/2″.

Stitching

First sew along the shoulders of front and back. Half work done 🙂 Now measure from A-B-C of the whole shrug I mean both the fronts along with the back neckline. Now attach the bias strip from A-B-C and pin it up. Don’t stretch too much the bias strip.

Now attach the sleeves. And sew the shrug. Yup our shrug sewing finished…..
